My first idea was easy to think of. Realizing I have not done much pictures of this and it is the reason I really wanted to get into photography. Landscape!! I love the peacefulness, awesomeness and the overall beauty in a landscape picture that touches my soul. I would like to call it Spring Time Landscape in Arizona. I think Arizona is a beautiful place and especially in the spring. I would love to show you all.
My next idea also centers around spring time in Arizona. I had thought of taking pictures of spring time activities that we are so blessed to be able to do this time of year. I have a few ideas already. So many different types of events coming up for picture capturing!! I mainly want to do this to show the variety of things to do in Arizona’s beautiful weather.
Finally, my last idea came to me in the middle of the night and is the most intimidating to do. I haven’t quite wrapped my head around how I would like to approach this idea but I thought it was interesting. I thought about taking pictures of people and their tattoos. Yes, you read correctly. I enjoy looking at other people’s tattoos and am curious as to why they choose a particular design. This would really be stepping out of my comfort zone!! I believe the best approach would be to ask people and that would be the scary part. As I mentioned the first day of class, I do want to get into street photography however, I would from a distance not necessarily asking people if I could take their picture!! Ha!
Hi Lisa,
I am really drawn to your 3rd idea! The landscape idea is also interesting however we are doing a landscape project for Assignment #3 so you could focus on your “Spring” concept for that project. The “People and Tattoos” project would get you out of your comfort zone which I think is always a great idea! We will also be doing a lighting demo here soon so you may learn some techniques you could incorporate into your project. Thanks Lisa!

Lisa,
I really like your third idea, and I think it sounds like a very interesting series. I also enjoy looking at other people’s tattoos and hearing their stories about them. I think if you photographed people’s tattoos you would be helping to tell their story. You could also have a lot of fun using lighting and different styles of portraiture to show their tattoos. I think it’s a great idea!

Lisa,
I know that you like landscape so I do think that might be a good idea however I really want you to do your 3rd idea!! I believe it would really help get you out of your shell a little bit and I think that you could really come up with some great pictures for a series. PS I know/as friends with a tattoo artist and know many people with tattoos so I could help you get in touch with some people =)
Sarah
I would be most interested to see people’s tattoos. I doesn’t sound weird. It sounds like a good coffee table book idea though:-)
The Valley explodes with spring activities. You would have plenty of opportunities. The idea that I think is the most intriguing is the tattoo idea. You would be doing a kind of portraiture that shows a different side of people where the primary focus is the story behind the art on the arm (or wherever) rather than the story behind the smile or the eyes. You could network–ask friends to ask their friends who have unique tattoos.
Tattoos! Perhaps Sarah’s tattoo artist friend would let you photograph him/her in action. I’ve never been to a tattoo parlour (do they still call them that?). It would be interesting to capture images that describe that space as well as the process– designs, application, etc. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
