1. Low light long exposure photography taken mostly at night and or indoors with existing, or the use of lighting to enhance the photo. I love this type of photography and plan to do allot more of this in the future.
2. Macro photography using a tube and every photo will be taken within 12” of the camera. Bugs, plants and manmade stuff. I have not taken this type of photography before and just purchased the tubes a few weeks ago. Not sure if I like this type of photography this would be one way to find out.
3. Create a series of photos using the theme from the class assignment two “architecture”. I liked doing this type of photography. It might be fun to continue the religious theme and see how far I can take it or just do like Josh suggested use the same shot for each location. Might even travel to take some shots of locations in Arizona that I have wanted to see.
Hi Steve,
I think idea 1 or 3 would be the strongest. Idea 1 would allow you to work in a direction you are passionate about which is a great motivator! Adding light to enhance the photograph would be a great idea and allow you more creativity. Your 3rd idea would allow you to take a new direction which is also a good way to push yourself. If you do focus on individual buildings, keep in mind that there will be travel involved. I have some ideas for structures, we can discuss them if you go this route. Thanks Steve!

I am thinking #3 might make be more challenging to get a set of 5 that work together. It would also open up a new world getting me to other locations than just the phoenix metro area. The down side would be because of travel, work and school I would need to be very organized. What locations do you have in mind? Let’s discuss next class. Thank you!
Steve,
Some of them are local but some are a bit of a drive. The first one is in Felicity CA just beyond Yuma AZ. Here is a link to the church:

The next one is in Phoenix on the NE corner of 16th street and Buckey. It is in a empty field and is fenced off. It is called the Sacred Heart Church:

There is a very cool little church out towards the Superstitions:

There is another church on the corner of Tatum & Shea, not sure of the name and then another in Glendale that was incredible but I cannot seem to find it on Google Maps. I think it was a Muslim church. I will keep you posted on any others I find.

Hey Steve,
I love your landscapes especially the last ones I saw you do with the vines and the sun rays in the park. Epically done. Low light is something I think you should do because you love this style of photography. I would recommend maybe trying different styles in this so you can get a feel of different things. Maybe something you wouldn’t normally shoot etc. In the end I think it’s important we stick with what we love and are good at, in this case you master down your landscape shoots so I would say that direction might be the best.
